RTMP or RTSP – what should I use finally for video streaming?
I`m still looking for the best opportunity to replace my current video preview feed.
First week of this month I spent to check how it is possible to stream RTMP or RTSP feed to any cloud based services. I did join webhosting forum and members told me to focus primary on NGINX server. This great streaming server allows you to share RTMP streams on any platform and it`s available for free.
If you want you can run it on virtual server or any Linux standalone platforms. I have decided to setup it first on my PC using secondary Linux disk but during configuration I found that it`s also available for Raspberry PI.
Yep … I did start to think about RPI second time.
Next week I did search internet again to find some more information related NGINX run on Raspberry. I didn’t find any clear description how to setup RTSP stream on NGINX server. It still open question form me.
Manuals for NGINX servers and support for RTMP streams is easy to be find over net but transcoding streams to RTSP seems to be more difficult work.
After 2 week I gave up with this ask and put on hold NGINX part because I during reading manuals and notes I found some more notes related Raspberry and gstream part..
I focusing on this solution now .I completly forget about RTMP part and for next phases I will try to configure Raspberry PI3 connected with my new PIXHAWK. I will be stream video directly from drone to client ground station software without any cloud services.
I`m little afraid about problems with dynamic and not public IP but hope finally I will solve it.
